Welcome to Calm Waters Counseling Services
Transparent Pricing for Personalized Care
Choosing to invest in therapy is an investment in your or your child’s long-term well-being. To provide the highest standard of personalized care, Calm Waters Counseling Services is a private-pay practice and does not accept insurance. By choosing a self-pay model, your treatment remains entirely between us. We are not bound by insurance company mandates regarding the frequency of sessions, the duration of treatment, or the requirement of a formal mental health diagnosis for your permanent record.
Session Fees
Payment is due at the time of service via our secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal. We accept all major credit cards, as well as HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards.
| Service Type | Duration | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Initial Intake Assessment | 60 Minutes | $255 |
| Individual Therapy (Child, Teen, or Adult) | 45-50 Minutes | $200 |
| Parent Consultation (for already established clients) |
30 Minutes | $100 |
| Family Session | 45-50 Minutes | $250 |
Out-of-Network Reimbursement (Superbills)
While I do not bill insurance companies directly, many PPO insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits. If you have out-of-network coverage, you may be eligible to receive a percentage of my fee back from your insurance provider.
- You pay the full fee at the time of our session.
- At the end of each month, I can provide you with a Superbill (a detailed receipt of services).
- You submit this document to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Pro-Tip: I recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card and asking: “What are my out-of-network behavioral health benefits for telehealth office visits?”
The Benefits of Private Pay
- Total Privacy: Insurance companies require a clinical diagnosis to authorize treatment. Private pay allows us to work on personal growth, life transitions, or family dynamics without a permanent label on your medical record.
- No “Hidden” Limits: We decide together how often we meet and for how long, rather than an insurance adjuster deciding when your “progress” should be finished.
- Specialized Focus: Because I am not spending hours on insurance paperwork, I can dedicate more time to clinical research and tailored resources for your specific needs.
Cancellation Policy
Please give 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep an appointment. Any appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at the full session rate, as that time cannot typically be filled on short notice.
I completely understand that unexpected things come up, and I always aim to be fair and transparent. My cancellation policy helps me maintain consistent availability for clients and manage my schedule responsibly.
